VR Display: Flash & Webcam

Here is a tech demo of using flash and a webcam to turn your display into a virtual window into our 3D content.
Be sure your webcam is facing you, then move your head side to side, up and down. You’ll be able to shift the virtual viewpoint by simply using your head.

It’s based around a similar concept first presented by Johnny Lee, but doesn’t require the Wiimote or any special software, just a webcam and a flash website.

Very well done. I’ve seen Flash examples like this but this is the best I’ve seen so far.
The others used get getColorBoundsRect to find where the motion was. This was used to move the scene/camera. This technique has its drawbacks though - if there is a lot of motion the results are inaccurate. After trying to “break” this it seems that there is some sort of primitive face detection going on (I tried moving several objects in front of the camera and the only one that worked was a drawing of a face!).

Cool… I really want to know how to animate a 3d model with bones, like the monster. Open code? Away3d or PV3?
