The opportunity
Boffswana was approached by Sony Music division Epic Records to create an Augmented Reality Karaoke experience for multi platinum recording artist Sean Kingston.

The result is a new twist on Karaoke that allows fans to record themselves singing and dancing along with their very own virtual Sean singing “Fire Burning on the Dance”.  Fans get to choreograph Sean by choosing from some of his trademark moves in the Dance Move Library.

It is an interactive experience for fans that brings them closer than even to their favourite music artist.

To experience virtual Sean fans visit his website and either download the SK symbol from the site or use the one included in his new album “Tomorrow” (launching September 22).

Fans can submit their clip to the online Gallery, share the clip with friends and social networking sites.

Boffswana’s Releas3D technology allows interaction with fully animated 3D objects in real space, using nothing more than a standard web browser, webcam and Flash.  Releas3d’s server side platform has been expanded to synchronize streaming audio from user’s microphone into the encoding pipeline, for the first time allowing people to sing alongside a 3D character in the room, and save and share those videos. This cutting edge technology coupled with a 3D model of lil Sean performing trademark dance move provides a new user experience in Augmented Reality and in Karaoke.

Boffswana has created the Sean Kingston Augmented Reality Karaoke Experience which is a subsection of the main www.SeanKingston.com Website which was designed and built by Sony Music.
